Austin Film Festival

We attended the 30th Annual Austin Film Festival in October 2023. It was four days filled with film, fun, and barbecue. The atmosphere was electric, and the city buzzed with excitement.

The highlight of the festival was the world premiere of “For When You Get Lost.” Our dear friend Meredith Riley Stewart produced the film, and we couldn’t be more proud. The film captivated the audience with its heartfelt story and stunning visuals. Seeing Meredith’s hard work come to life on the big screen was truly inspiring.

Beyond the premiere, the Austin Film Festival offered a fantastic mix of activities. We watched an array of films, each bringing a unique perspective and style. The diversity of stories and genres showcased the incredible talent within the industry.

We also attended several insightful panels and workshops. Industry leaders shared their experiences and insights, providing us with valuable knowledge to bring back to Squid Farm Film Production Company. These sessions sparked new ideas and motivated us to push the boundaries of our own projects.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Austin without indulging in some amazing barbecue. We took full advantage of the local cuisine, enjoying mouth-watering meals between screenings and events. The food added to the overall experience, making our time at the festival even more memorable.

The Austin Film Festival was more than just an event; it was a celebration of storytelling and creativity. We reconnected with old friends, made new connections, and left with a renewed passion for filmmaking. The festival reinforced our love for the craft and our commitment to producing compelling, unique stories.
